Our Services
Explore our comprehensive pet relocation services, covering every step from your front door to your pet’s new home. Pet Travel Advisors is a licensed and insured pet transportation service: one coordinator owns your move end to end, choosing vetted airline live animal programs, the right routing for your pet’s breed and the season, and the exact paperwork your destination requires. Our documentation work follows USDA (APHIS) requirements, with health certificates completed by accredited veterinarians and endorsed on the correct timeline.
We move dogs, cats, birds, and exotic pets for families relocating for work, military households on PCS orders, breeders placing puppies and kittens with new owners, and companies moving employees. Routes cover all 50 states and more than 30 international destinations. Every move is planned around the same priorities: your pet’s safety, exact compliance, and clear communication at every step. The services below can be combined into a full door to door move or booked for just the part you need. Browsing first? Our pet relocation FAQ answers the questions owners ask most.
Popular routes: Australia, the UK, Germany, Japan, the UAE, and Hawaii, which is domestic but has quarantine rules of its own. Or browse all destination guides.
For birds, reptiles, and small mammals, see our bird and exotic pet transport service.
Dogs, Cats and Birds
We move dogs, cats, birds and small exotic pets, and the three are genuinely different jobs rather than one service with the animal swapped out. A dog is routed and priced by its crate, so breed and size decide the route before anything else does. A cat usually fits in the cabin, which makes a cat move the cheapest and simplest of the three. A bird or a reptile turns on whether the species is permitted to travel at all, which is a permit question long before it is a booking question.
Each animal has its own airline restrictions, its own container rules and its own realistic routes, so start with the guide for yours rather than a general one. What does not change is how we run it: one coordinator, collection from your home, the paperwork sequenced so nothing expires before travel day, and delivery to the new address at the other end.
Dog Transport
In the cabin, as checked baggage, as manifested cargo, or door to door by road. Breed and size decide the route before anything else does, because the IATA crate your dog needs is what sets which aircraft can carry it, and several airlines refuse snub-nosed breeds in the hold outright. Domestic and international dog relocation, handled end to end. See our dog transport services.
Cat Transport
Most cats stay under the cabin weight limit for their whole adult life, which makes a cat move the cheapest and simplest version of this. We handle the carrier, the cabin slot the airline will not sell you online, the health certificate and both ends of the journey, across the United States and abroad. Multi-cat moves and rabies-free destinations are where it gets complicated. See our cat transport services.
Bird and Exotic Transport
Parrots and other birds, plus reptiles and small mammals, wherever airline and destination rules allow. These moves begin with an eligibility check rather than a quote, because CITES and the destination country own import rules can disagree with each other, and the honest answer is sometimes no. Permits before tickets, always. See our bird and exotic pet transport service.
Booking the Right Flight
Most delays in pet travel start with the wrong flight. We choose routings that keep time in transit short and connections safe. Where a route offers a choice between a cheaper connection and a shorter journey, we tell you plainly which one we would choose for our own dog.
Domestic Flight Arrangements
We book cargo space for your pet on flights within the US and Canada, choosing routings that avoid tight connections and the summer heat and winter cold embargoes that close hold travel for days at a time. You see the flight plan before anything is confirmed. See our domestic pet shipping service.
International Pet Relocation
We plan and book the full move abroad: the import permit, any rabies titer testing, the health certificate and its USDA endorsement, the airline and routing, customs clearance on arrival and delivery at the other end. See our international pet shipping service.
Paperwork and Compliance
Every destination has its own entry rules, and most refusals at the airport are paperwork problems. This is the part we watch most closely. You will always know what has been filed and what comes next.
Veterinary & Travel Document Verification
We check your pet’s rabies certificate, microchip record, and vet paperwork against the destination’s requirements before anything is submitted, so problems surface weeks early instead of at check-in.
Government Health Certificate Approval
We prepare the health certificate with your vet and manage the USDA endorsement so it is signed and stamped inside the validity window for your flight.
Issuing Travel Permits
Some destinations require an import permit before your pet can fly. We apply for it, track it, and time the flight around it.
Travel Day, Door to Airport
On the day itself you have enough to think about. We handle the pet. Print our free travel checklist to see every step in order.
Pet Pickup from the Residence
We collect your pet from your home at the agreed time, with the crate prepared and labeled in advance.
Travel Crate Preparation
We size and supply an airline-approved crate, fit it with bedding and water bowls, and build in time for your pet to get used to it before the flight.
Airport Delivery
We drive your pet to the cargo terminal, timed to the airline’s acceptance window so there is no long wait before boarding.
Airline Check-In Assistance
We handle the cargo check-in: documents, crate inspection, and airline fees, and we stay until your pet is accepted for the flight.
Arrival and the Last Mile
The move is not over when the plane lands. We stay on it until your pet is home. If a flight is delayed or a connection changes, we rework the plan and tell you before you need to ask.
Customs Clearance Support
We coordinate customs and border clearance at the destination airport, working with local agents where the country requires one.
Airport Meet and Greet
Your pet is met at the destination airport, checked over, and given water and a break where facilities allow.
Delivery to the Final Destination
We drive your pet from the airport to the new home, whether that is across town or a connecting leg away.
Regular Travel Updates
You hear from us at every milestone: pickup, check-in, departure, landing, and delivery.
Pet Tracking Information
You get the airline’s tracking reference for the flight, so you can follow the journey yourself instead of waiting by the phone.
How a Move Comes Together
Every move follows the same backbone, whatever the destination. Here is what working with us looks like from first call to delivery day.
1. Tell Us About Your Pet
Start with the quote form or a phone call. We ask about breed, age, size, and health, plus where you are moving from and to and when. Snub nosed breeds and very large dogs change the flight options, so we ask early. A quote costs nothing.
2. Get Your Route and Quote
We come back with the routing we recommend, what the paperwork involves for your destination, and a written quote for the full move including our coordination.
3. Paperwork and Preparation
Depending on the destination this stage runs from a few weeks to several months. Vaccinations, titer tests where required, crate practice at home, and the health certificate timed to your flight. For Australia and New Zealand the titer wait alone sets the timeline, so starting early matters more than anything else.
4. Travel Day
We collect your pet, deliver them to the cargo terminal, and handle check-in. You get confirmation when your pet is accepted and again at departure.
5. Arrival and Delivery
Customs clearance, a check and water at the destination airport, then the drive to the new home. The move ends at your door, not at the airport.
