Types of Pets We Transport

    Dog Transportation

Dogs are the moves we plan most often. We match the crate to your dog’s size, book around airline rules and seasonal limits, and plan the routing through Seattle-Tacoma (SEA) so nothing turns into a last-minute scramble on travel day.

  • Cat icon representing cat transportation services

    Cat Transportation

Cats travel best when the day stays calm and the waiting is short. We choose airline-approved carriers, sort out the cabin-or-cargo question early, and plan the schedule so your cat spends as little time at the airport as possible.

  • Green bird icon representing bird transportation services

    Bird Transportation

Birds need a little more care: species-specific paperwork, airline approval, and travel that holds a steady temperature. We walk you through the health certificates and routing so nothing slips through the cracks.

  • Hamster icon representing small mammal transportation services

    Small Mammals

Rabbits, guinea pigs, and other small pets travel in approved carriers on carefully timed routes. We confirm that the airline will accept your pet well before the date, so there are no surprises.

  • Iguana icon representing reptile and exotic pet transportation services

    Reptiles and Exotic Pets

Reptiles and exotic pets each come with their own rules. We review the airline policies and temperature requirements one by one and build a route that genuinely suits your animal, not a one-size-fits-all plan.

Nearest Airport in Seattle With Pet Services:

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA)

SEA is the primary hub for Seattle area pet travel. It helps to plan for check-in timing, pet relief breaks, and screening flow, especially during peak travel periods. Seattle-Tacoma International Airport is well-equipped to handle pet travel for domestic and international journeys.

Check out the SEA website for “Traveling with Pets and Service Animals“ guide and relief areal locations.

  • Temperature limits and ground handling:

Airlines decide whether a pet flies, not the airport. Most US carriers refuse an animal in the hold when the forecast ground temperature at any point on the itinerary sits outside roughly 45F to 85F, and they layer seasonal embargoes on top of that. Between drop-off and loading your pet waits in the cargo handler building rather than a dedicated animal terminal, so the acceptance window and the handler opening hours are what a travel date has to be built around.

  • Pet-Friendly Airline Services:

Airlines at SEA provide in cabin and cargo options for pet transportation, accommodating a variety of animals.

  • Pet Relief Areas:

SEA offers several pet relief areas, including outdoor locations near the terminal entrances and indoor relief stations post-security. These areas feature artificial turf, waste disposal stations, and water access.

  • Who actually handles your pet at SEA

Alaska Air Cargo runs the cargo warehouse at 2600 South 165th Street, and that is where a pet booked on Alaska Air Cargo Pet Connect is dropped off and collected. Drop-off runs Monday to Friday, 4:30am to 10:00pm, Saturday 9:00am to 10:00pm and Sunday 1:00pm to 10:00pm. As Alaska home base this is one of the few stations open every day of the week. American Airlines Cargo is the other option here, and the only one of the big three still running a public live animal program: Delta and United carry pets in the hold only for active military and State Department moves. USDA endorsement is fastest through VEHCS, the routine VEHCS desk is staffed Monday to Friday 7:00am to 4:30pm Central, and there is no in-person or drop-off service anywhere.

Tips for Pet Relocation Through Seattle:

FAQ: Pet Transport Services

When should I plan a pet move from Seattle?

Seattle’s mild climate is one less thing to worry about; there is no long heat or cold season that forces a pet off most flights. That gives us flexibility to pick the calmest routing and the best departure time from Sea-Tac, rather than working around the weather. We still watch the forecast at the destination, which may be less forgiving.

Which airport will my pet depart from in Seattle?

Most Seattle-area pets depart from Seattle-Tacoma International (SEA), a major connecting hub with routes across the country. Its direct routes often mean fewer connections, which makes for a shorter trip for your pet. We handle the check-in timing and the airline’s crate and booking rules so the airport day stays calm and predictable.

Will my pet have layovers flying from Seattle?

Where we can, we plan Seattle moves with the fewest connections, because a direct flight is shorter and calmer for your pet. When a layover is unavoidable, we choose connections with enough time and the right conditions, routing through Sea-Tac or a nearby hub to keep the total trip as short as possible.

Do you help with crates and carriers for Seattle pets?

Yes. The crate is one of the most important parts of a safe flight, so we size it to your pet and to the airline’s rules, which set the dimensions, ventilation, and labeling a carrier will accept. For Seattle pets we confirm the crate well before travel so there are no surprises at Sea-Tac.

Do you serve areas near Seattle too?

We arrange pickups across Seattle and nearby communities like Bellevue, Tacoma, Everett, Redmond, and we serve the wider area through our West Coast service area, which also covers Portland.

How do you price a pet move from Seattle?

Every Seattle move is priced on its own, because the route, airline fees, your pet’s size and crate, the season, and the destination’s rules all change the total. Tell us where and when, and we’ll put together an estimate: request a quote. For a closer look at what drives the price, see our guide to pet shipping costs.
