Types of Pets We Transport

    Dog Transportation

Dogs are the moves we plan most often. We match the crate to your dog’s size, book around airline rules and summer heat limits, and plan the routing through Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) so nothing turns into a last-minute scramble on travel day.

  • Cat icon representing cat transportation services

    Cat Transportation

Cats travel best when the day stays calm and the waiting is short. We choose airline-approved carriers, sort out the cabin-or-cargo question early, and plan the schedule so your cat spends as little time at the airport as possible.

  • Green bird icon representing bird transportation services

    Bird Transportation

Birds need a little more care: species-specific paperwork, airline approval, and travel that holds a steady temperature. We walk you through the health certificates and routing so nothing slips through the cracks.

  • Hamster icon representing small mammal transportation services

    Small Mammals Transportation

Rabbits, guinea pigs, and other small pets travel in approved carriers on carefully timed routes. We confirm that the airline will accept your pet well before the date, so there are no surprises.

  • Iguana icon representing reptile and exotic pet transportation services

    Reptile and Exotic Pet Transport

Reptiles and exotic pets each come with their own rules. We review the airline policies and temperature requirements one by one and build a route that genuinely suits your animal, not a one-size-fits-all plan.

Nearest Airport In Dallas With Pet Services:

Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW)

DFW is the primary airport serving Dallas and a major hub for domestic and international pet travel. The airport also offers multiple pet relief areas and supports airline live-animal programs.

  • Pet Relief Areas:

There's multiple pet relief areas, both pre- and post-security, across all terminals. These areas are well-equipped with waste disposal stations and provide space for pets to relax during travel.

  • Who actually handles your pet at DFW

Air General runs the cargo warehouse at 2370 West Airfield Drive, Suite 100, Grapevine, and that is where a pet booked on Alaska Air Cargo Pet Connect is dropped off and collected. Drop-off runs Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 5:30am to 8:00pm, and Wednesday from 5:00am. The counter is closed Saturday and Sunday, so a Dallas pet move has to fall on a weekday. American Airlines Cargo is the other option here, and the only one of the big three still running a public live animal program: Delta and United carry pets in the hold only for active military and State Department moves. USDA endorsement is fastest through VEHCS, the routine VEHCS desk is staffed Monday to Friday 7:00am to 4:30pm Central, and there is no in-person or drop-off service anywhere.

  • Customs and Animal Reception:

DFW’s customs facilities handle international pet relocations, including quarantine and health documentation verification for incoming pets. Airport staff coordinate with airline partners and USDA officials to ensure compliance with international regulations.

  • Temperature limits and ground handling:

Airlines decide whether a pet flies, not the airport. Most US carriers refuse an animal in the hold when the forecast ground temperature at any point on the itinerary sits outside roughly 45F to 85F, and they layer seasonal embargoes on top of that. Between drop-off and loading your pet waits in the cargo handler building rather than a dedicated animal terminal, so the acceptance window and the handler opening hours are what a travel date has to be built around.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can pets fly out of Dallas during the summer heat?

Dallas summers are the biggest factor in timing a pet’s flight. Through the hottest months, ramp temperatures often climb past the limits airlines set for animals in cargo, and many carriers pause pet acceptance during the warmest part of the day. We plan Dallas moves around that, booking early-morning or overnight departures from DFW or shifting the window so your pet is never left waiting in the heat.

Will my pet fly out of DFW?

Most Dallas-area pets depart from Dallas/Fort Worth International (DFW), a major connecting hub with routes across the country. Its direct routes often mean fewer connections, which makes for a shorter trip for your pet. We handle the check-in timing and the airline’s crate and booking rules so the airport day stays calm and predictable.

Do you handle international pet moves from Dallas?

Yes. Dallas/Fort Worth International (DFW) has strong international service, and we coordinate overseas moves from Dallas end to end, mapping the route, preparing the destination country’s import paperwork, and timing travel around the airline’s schedule. See our destination guides for country requirements.

Do you offer door-to-door pet transport from Dallas?

Yes. Many Dallas families want the whole move handled, so we can arrange ground pickup from your home, the airport hand-off, and delivery at the other end. One coordinator stays with the journey from your Dallas door to the destination.

What parts of the Dallas area do you pick up from?

We arrange pickups across Dallas and nearby communities like Fort Worth, Plano, Arlington, Frisco, and we serve the wider area through our Southwest service area, which also covers Houston and Austin.

How is the cost of a Dallas pet move decided?

Every Dallas move is priced on its own, because the route, airline fees, your pet’s size and crate, the season, and the destination’s rules all change the total. Tell us where and when, and we’ll put together an estimate: request a quote. For a closer look at what drives the price, see our guide to pet shipping costs.
